Founder-led SaaS case study

GymNudge

GymNudge is a responsive gym-management SaaS product for Indian neighbourhood gym owners. It brings renewal reminders, pending-payment visibility, inactive-member follow-up and daily priorities into one workflow. Evolve Studios founder Shubham Unavane led the product framing, positioning, user journeys, interface delivery and go-to-market.

01 / Executive summary

A daily operating view for membership revenue and follow-up.

GymNudge is designed for neighbourhood gym owners who need a clearer way to manage membership renewals, collections and re-engagement without replacing the personal relationships that make a local gym work.

The product opportunity was to make revenue-related follow-up visible and actionable: show who needs attention, explain why, make WhatsApp outreach easier and keep the broader collection picture in view.

02 / Problem and market context

Important revenue signals were scattered across memory, registers and chats.

Neighbourhood gyms often know their members personally, but that strength becomes difficult to manage as the member base grows. Renewals become reactive, pending payments are hard to see at a glance and inactive members receive inconsistent follow-up.

The target customer is an Indian neighbourhood gym owner who needs a practical operating tool, not an enterprise system that adds more administration. The product therefore centres a simple morning question: who needs my attention today?

The market opportunity is not described through an invented market-size statistic. It is framed through the recurring workflow the product addresses and the publicly visible product experience.

03 / Product positioning and strategy

Organise the day around action, not software administration.

The product is positioned as a practical gym renewal and collection-management system. The experience is structured around short owner workflows: review what is due, understand priority, contact the right member and keep the collection picture visible.

That led to a simple product strategy: surface the next useful action before adding reporting depth, use familiar WhatsApp behaviour rather than forcing a new communication habit, and make the financial picture understandable without turning the product into accounting software.

Shubham worked across the product rather than one isolated screen: the business proposition, website, assisted trial, owner dashboard, member workflows, pricing context and quality assurance needed to tell the same story.

05 / User journey and features

From daily signal to a completed follow-up.

The core journey begins with the owner dashboard, moves into a prioritised member or renewal list, provides the context needed for action and supports a WhatsApp-ready follow-up. Payment tracking and analytics then help the owner understand the wider collection picture.

Core product surfaces

  • Owner dashboard for collections, revenue at risk and follow-up priorities.
  • Member management with plan, visit and renewal context.
  • Renewal workflow with due dates, amounts and contact actions.
  • Payment tracking with collection summaries and receipts.
  • Business analytics for collection rate, revenue at risk and inactive members.
  • An assisted 14-day trial journey for prospective gym owners.

06 / Dashboard and workflow decisions

Make priority visible before adding complexity.

The dashboard is designed as an action surface. Summary numbers matter only when they help an owner decide what to do, so the product pairs collection visibility with the member groups that require attention.

WhatsApp is treated as a familiar communication layer, not evidence of a fully automated conversation. The workflow reduces repetitive preparation while leaving room for the owner’s relationship and judgement.

07 / Technical and UX approach

A responsive product shaped around short owner workflows.

The verified public implementation includes a responsive marketing website, assisted-trial journey and web application surfaces for members, renewals, payments and analytics. This case study does not publish unverified infrastructure or security claims.

UX decisions favour plain labels, visible states, focused lists and a consistent path from signal to action. The design avoids turning operational urgency into a visually dense enterprise dashboard.

Challenges and trade-offs

  • Provide useful depth without increasing daily administration.
  • Make financial priorities visible without presenting the tool as accounting software.
  • Support efficient outreach without making unsupported automation claims.
  • Balance product breadth with a clear assisted-trial experience.

09 / Status, learning and roadmap

A live product with evidence still to earn.

GymNudge is a live product. It demonstrates product strategy, business positioning, interface design and end-to-end implementation, but this page deliberately avoids unverified user counts, revenue claims and performance metrics.

The central learning is that operational software becomes more useful when it starts with a recurring decision rather than a catalogue of features. The responsible next roadmap is to use verified owner feedback and product data to refine priority views, follow-up workflows, onboarding and measurement.
